Devilettes grad Ella Shelton is part of Hockey Canada’s 35-player BFL national women’s team training camp running until March 7 in Halifax.

The Ingersoll 22-year-old, a former Clarkson University standout, is one of 10 blue-liners on a roster that must adhere to new COVID-19 restrictions that limit participants to 25 on the ice at one time. The camp follows a January session in Calgary, which was the first chance to evaluate players and work out together since the pandemic started last year.

Shelton joined the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association’s Toronto team after a four-year NCAA career that included 108 points and a plus-125 rating from the blue line. She served as captain in her final season.

The world championships are set for April 7-17 in Halifax and Truro, N.S.
