I find it unusual that the article, “Affordable housing plan killed as Mt. Brydges residents rail against it”, never mentions that the “Not In My Park” campaign “spearhead” Kevin Kingma is also a well known real estate agent in the area.
Homeowners in Mt. Brydges who killed this affordable housing project should do some genuine soul-searching about their real motives.
The municipality should do some genuine soul-searching about how easily they cave to NIMBY-ism.
Cenotaph Park is a glorified lawn … it’s not like we’re protecting an ecosystem here. Are we really more concerned about “parking space” than giving people a place to live?
