Wallaceburg concert series moves to Legion

The Wallaceburg and District Arts Council has entertainment covered on Tuesday nights.

Their annual Tuesday night concert series, now in its third year, has kicked off and is now at a different venue.

The concerts have traditionally been at the Library Park, and that’s where they started off this year as well. However, they have moved across the river to the Legion, as the stage they borrowed from the WAMBO organizers for the concerts was needed for the upcoming Otter Creek Jam Fest.

“For three weeks we wouldn’t have a trailer and we thought it would be really confusing to send people to the library one week and the Legion another week, so the Legion graciously offered us to come here,” said organizer Janet Barnes.

Currently, the organization is having a contest where people can go to the Art Council’s Facebook page and vote for their favourite performers and the winner will receive a cash prize. The contest winner will be announced on Aug. 13.

Concerts run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. If weather permits the concerts will be held on the Legion’s patio overlooking the Sydenham River. If the weather calls for rain the concerts will be held indoors.

Sponsors of the event include, the arts council, Wallaceburg NAPA Automotive and Wallaceburg Wellness Centre.
